What makes these forcing bulbs different from our other paperwhites besides that this one is sold as four bulbs? These are a soft white with a yellow center, and they grow taller than any of the other paperwhites! They feel like you have brought a piece of sunshine into your home. This set of 4 large paperwhite bulbs is perfect for forcing in your own pot, or buy multiples to force in several smaller pots around the house.
Blooms: You have the white petals with just a touch of 'winter sun' yellow in the center to make you and your guests smile when they look at them. There are several large flowers on each stem, and the 'Wintersun' has a lovely, light, sweet fragrance. Stems typically reach about 12-16" tall.
Forcing: Be sure to plant the bulbs about 6-8 weeks before your desired day of display. These are lovely for Thanksgiving or Christmas for a holiday season bloom. Consider also forcing the 'Wintersun' paperwhite at different intervals so that you have lovely blooms all the way through Easter!
Planting: Plant the bulb like most daffodils in 6+ hours of winter sun, well-drained soil, avoid standing water, and avoid too much competition. Plant the bulbs about 2-3 times the height of the bulb deep (so if the bulb is 1 inch tall, plant it 2-3 inches deep). If you are farther north and get very cold during the winter, you may want to plant it about 4-6 inches deep. Space the holes about 3-6 inches apart, and for a more natural looking display, consider planting 2-3 bulbs in each hole.
